Among all the lip care and colour in one products, this one, I think, is one of the best that come in lipstick form. I’ll be sure to do a separate post about lip care and colour fusion like products and tell you about the other ones I like. For now I’d like to talk about Rouge Dior Baume, as I think it definitely deserves to be talked about 🙂
It is caring and comfortable, balmy like on the lips indeed. My lips do feel good and supple with Rouge Dior Baume. Its shade range is quite wide. It’s shiny on the lips, that is, in texture it’s also like a lip balm. And some shades have sparkle in them too, as you’ll see in the swatch. It’s small, so it’s easy to carry around even in the tiniest possible purse.
The only thing about it, actually, that might be a drawback depending on your taste, is that this balmy lipstick has a pretty strong flowery like scent. I can’t say that it lasts long on the lips, but you get it big time at the point of application, which can be a problem to those who are scent sensitive.
The bottom line to me though is that this product does give you care on top of colour, so, it does what it promises. And it’s nice and soothing on the lips, so I like it a lot, one of my favorites 🙂 Oh, and if you like nude and natural kind of look, there’s a shade in the range that just gives you a touch of sheen on the lips. Like a lip balm. Let’s go 🙂
128 Star
This is the shade I was just talking about. It’s ever so light beige. Just shine on your lips.
288 Bleuette
A pale pink romantic shade. Very prim and princess like.
Also can be used as a pink nude look shade. If you like natural lip shades, you’ll like it. Mind though that it’s really very pale. There are some complexions that don’t agree with so pale a pink.
468 Spring
Light coral. Not to be mixed up with bright orange 🙂
Nice and easy, a quite light shade.
488 Primerose
A light pink, but it’s a little bolder than Bleuette. A little bit more sparkle in it. A little bit more colour.
It’s a cool pink shade. Elegant.
538 Boreale
A coral shade, brighter than Spring. It’s medium bright coral. I like it, actually, not too bright, not too light.
This is the kind of coral I like best, because I think that there are not too many people who can pull off a too light or a too bright coral look. While this nice middle ground will become most.
558 Lili
This shade is a medium pink with some mauve in it. It’s pink meets purple, and it’s a tie between them 🙂
It’s a well balanced shade, everyday kind of shade, not too bright, but quite conspicuous. A good way to try out purple, if you’re not too sure about the result.
568 Rose Rose
It really is rose rose. A hot vibrant pink leaning towards purple a little bit.
Those who like fuchsia shades will appreciate this, I think. If you don’t like bright shades though, beware, this is pretty bright 🙂
640 Milly
A beautiful beige. A noble beige. The kind that will become everyone and look different on any woman.
This is a great job putting a beige shade together. If you like nude, especially, you’ll love this.
688 Diorette
An even cooler bright pink than Rose Rose with even more purple undertone to it.
This shade is also fuchsia area kind of shade. Vigorous 🙂
730 Fleur d’Automne
A very sophisticated beige coral shade. Womanly. Elegant. Office shade.
If you like beige or brown outfits, it will look awesome with them.
740 Escapade
Oh, and by the way, each Rouge Dior Baume has CD logo print of the tip.
Dark beige shade.
Beautiful, but I’m afraid, there are not that many people out there who this shade will look good on. If you like it, I’d suggest you go to the counter and try it on first. But if it works for you, it will look gorgeous 🙂
758 Lys Rouge
Yes, it is most definitely rouge. A bright vampy red. Hot. Sexy. Glamorous. It’s a classic.
I myself like reds that lean more towards orange. Still I enjoy this shiny darker red a lot. Definitely attracts a lot of attention 🙂
760 Garden Party
When you think ‘garden party’ you think… purple. No? Well, that’s what Dior thinks, anyway 🙂 It’s a dead on purple shade. Pretty dark. Plum shade.
It’s nice, but once again, this is the kind of shade one should be careful with. It won’t universally look good on just everyone. I’d suggest doing the same as in case of Escapade – try it on before buying. Unless, of course, this is your shade that you always wear 🙂
788 Fleur Bleue
This is a more wearable purple than Garden Party. It has much more pink in it making it step into raspberry territory.
A great alternative to red lip for those who are tired of it, but want something bright 🙂
Please, see the swatch of all shades. Left to right here I have (and yes, that transparent thing in the swatch on the very left before Bleuette is Star 🙂 I told you, there’s not much colour there) – 128 Star, 299 Bleuette, 468 Spring, 488 Primerose, 538 Boreale, 558 Lili, 568 Rose Rose, 640 Milly, 688 Diorette, 730 Fleur d’Automne, 740 Escapade, 758 Lys Rouge, 760 Garden Party, 788 Fleur Bleue.
This is the whole colour range of Rouge Dior Baume. Well, there are also five limited edition shades from spring collection. If you want to see them too, check out the post about Dior spring lip shades for summer 2015 🙂 This lipstick is a great balance of colour and care. If you like shiny wet lip look, you’ll like the texture and finish too. I like it. Shiny lipstick is what I love most in lip colour world 🙂

I get what you’re saying 🙂 I love Rouge Coco Shines and have a whole bunch of them. But there’s no care balmy element in them. It’s a shiny lipstick, and it’s nice and soft on the lips, and it’s definitely one of the best shiny lipsticks out there. So, I’m with you on Rouge Coco Shine. It’s just that Rouge Dior Baume is this whole new trend, where they try to eliminate the lip primer step, you know, by including the care effect into the lipstick itself. We’ll see if they manage that.
Thank you much, Ana) I’m glad you do
