… as crooked handed as I am 🙂 I mean, seriously, I just can’t draw a straight line. I can’t do that. But of course, want to have do that arowy steaming hot eyeliner look 🙂 Well, before liquid eyeliner was completely out of the question for me. Eye pencil – maybe, but liquid liner – no way! You think you aren’t that good at drawing arrows on your lids? I dare you 🙂 I’m sure I’m worse. I’ve tried it all – Dior, Chanel, YSL, Clarins, Clinique, Guerlain and pretty much all other major luxury brand liquid eyeliners. And none of them worked, and I’m sure it’s not because they are bad, but because I’m so awkward with that.
You know those thin brushes that liquid eyeliners have that are supposed to help you draw a precisely fine nice line? Well, when I do it, bristles of the brush go all over the place staining my lid. And that’s just one of the things that happens 🙂
Are you already asking – why do you keep doing that? If it’s so hard, why not just give it up? Well, it’s just that the strong sexy arrowy eye look is so iconic and so classic, that I want to do it. And why liquid eyeliner? Why not any other kind – you’re probably asking yourselves now. I’ll tell you – liquid eyeliner gives you that super shiny black arrow look that I actually want to have.
But… finally, I found one liquid eyeliner I can actually use. Lancome Artliner 24H.
I just got it under the category – well, why not try yet another one by some other brand? Now, what’s so special and different about it that helps it work ever so much better for me than anything else? It has a felt tip instead of that brush. Which makes it actually possible for me to draw this line. It does! I can do it! Which means, you can do it, if you have the same issue 🙂
Really, this felt tip makes all the difference in the world.
You’ll still need a little practice, but be strong 🙂 , you’ll get there.
My advice is – don’t start with the black. I know, I know – you want to have this cat like shiny black line, rock-n-roll look, sixties look and all that.
Nonetheless, I started with a green shade, because I needed to match it up to my outfit, it took me applying it couple of times to get really good. But I felt it the very first time I did it – the arrow was quite good from the get go. I was just striving for perfection, honestly 🙂 I suggest you start with Chrome or Jade shade, that is, simply, a lighter shade. And then, once you’ve used it several times, move on to black. Then you’ll get the desired result most certainly.
I’m happy. Now I have one more look in my make up wardrobe. Which is always a great thing to have.
By the way, there’s also Lancome Artliner, not 24H one, but I haven’t tried it, its tip is a little different, and it scares me 🙂 Maybe, at some point I’ll pluck up enough courage to try it out and then I’ll be sure to tell you all about it.
As of now, I wish you luck in liquid eyeliner territory. And don’t doubt, if I could do it, you can do it! Get Lancome Artliner 24H and go right ahead 🙂
P.S. By the way, I’ve tried couple liquid eyeliners with a felt tip brush before Lancome Artliner 24H, and they didn’t work for me. I can’t tell you why exactly – that’s just the way it happened 🙂
