Coral almost always shows up in luxury brand summer collections. Especially in lip colour and nail colour. And in blush colour. And in bronzers 🙂 But what do you do, if you don’t really like coral in make up? Or if you do like it, but it doesn’t really become you that much? Well, I have to tell you, I don’t love it. I do wear it sometimes for variety sake, but it’s far from being one of my favourites colours. If you’re like me, does it mean we should miss out on this whole coral sweep of a trend? Nope, it doesn’t 🙂
Here’s what I do. Maybe, it will work for you too. I personalize. I’ll explain. Ok, so there’s a lot of coral in luxury brands summer make up collections, it’s pretty much coral and dead on orange for, say, nails a lot of the times. Dior, Guerlain, Dolce&Gabbana and others – they all have some coral this summer season. But… It doesn’t mean I have to use coral or bright orange on my nails. It just means, coral, that it orange colour is trendy. And orange and coral have a lot of shades in them. So, instead of just going around with super bright orange nails, or coral nails, for that matter, and wondering – why exactly am I doing it? – I pull out nail polish – and not just nail polish, it works for any make up, in fact – shades that in the coral and orange family, but that I like more than coral and orange proper.
You’re wondering what it means practically speaking? I’ll show you.
Take a look at this nail polish, for example. Deborah Lippmann Sunshine Superman
For starters, it’s Deborah Lippmann, and that means great quality and strong hold on the nails, easy application, delicate to your nails, that is, everything you’ve ever dreamt of in a nail polish 🙂
And as for the shade, this is a sparkly and shiny lighter kind of coral. It’s not the kind that gets released all over the place every summer by luxury brands. So what? It’s orange family, it means, you’ll still be fashionable, but not just quite the same as everyone else 🙂
In fact, there are a lot of people, for whom coral and orange don’t work so well. This shade is much more sparing, nicer to your complexion, your hands, your nails. It will make any hands look beautiful and bring out the best.
Also, it’s much more elegant and softer than just coral or orange. You can wear it to work and to a party equally, looking great in any situation. This shade is a limited edition shade, but it’s not like it’s unique. You can find it in other brands.
As much as I’m not a fan of coral and orange, I love this shade here. It’s so nice 🙂 Pretty.
The point I’m trying to make here is there’s always a way to make any trend your own, special. Make it more romantic, more sexy, more sporty and more befitting your own style. Because your style is unique. It’s not just a trend, it’s you and what you are, and each ‘you’ out there is different and very special 🙂 So, dream on and personalize. I, for one, am definitely going to 🙂
P.S. Also, this shade is can be so different. In the swatches here I’m wearing two coats. But if you wear only one, it will be sheer sparkly. And if you wear three, it’s going to be super shiny party mode kind of shade. Don’t you just love it, when you get like three in one from one product, so that you don’t ever have to get bored with it? I do 🙂
