Let me start by saying I really like Phyto Lip Twist balm by Sisley. I think, it’s one of the best coloured lip balms out there. I have a separate post about it called Sisley Phyto Lip Twist Tinted Balm swatched, take a look, if you’d like. So, I was very excited, when Sysley came up with Sisley Phyto Eye Twist. Especially as I like cream eyeshadow very much. Well, actually, I like cream eyeshadow in small little pots most, but cream eyeshadow in a stick will do too, as far as I’m concerned 🙂
Zebra pattern package is artsy and cool. I like it. A good match for the lip balm with the same pattern and red lettering. The eyeshadow looks the same as lip balm, it’s of the same size, only the lettering is blue. Good design.
It’s shaped as a bigger eye pencil, which allows to use it as an eyeliner, not just as cream eyeshadow. Although once it’s blunt – and it will go there, once you’re using it – it will be harder to use it as an eyeliner, which requires precision in terms of application. Of course, we can try to hold it sideways, so that it doesn’t go blunt too fast, but still…
This isn’t too much of a drawback to me, because I consider it primarily eyeshadow. And as eyeshadow…
Sisley Phyto Eye Twist is… awesome. It’s ever so soft, but not too soft, creamy and nice. Feels great on the lids. Doesn’t feel uncomfortable, when being applied. Everything about it is just so-o good.
All in all, this is a great way to do cream eyeshadow. Love it.
The texture is so great you can use it any way you want: as an eyeliner (while it’s sharp enough :-)), eyeshadow, for smoky eyes look, just anything.
There are eight shades in the range:
1 Topaze is a darker beige.
2 Bronze is the one I got, so I’ll talk about it in detail below.
3 Khaki is – well – pretty much khaki.
4 Steel is grey.
5 Lagoon is aqua.
6 Marine is blue.
7 Havana is brown.
8 Black diamond is black.
The shade I got is 2 bronze.
It’s pearly and khaki like with golden and silver glitter, but not a pure khaki.
It’s green, but this nice subdued kind of green, and there’s also some brown and gold in it and even a distant touch of grey, and a bunch of golden and silver sparkle.
This is the kind of green you want to have in your permanent eye colour range. Hazel, green, and yes, blue eyes – this shade will work with any eye colour and any complexion.
There’s actually a shade in the range called ‘khaki’, which is more of a dead on green shade, while ‘bronze’ is not that simple. It’s sophisticated and elegant.
The best thing about this eyeshadow though to me is its texture. I love it so much it makes me want to get hold of more shades.
It doesn’t have any of the cooling effect of Chanel Stylo eyeshadow, which might be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on what your preference is.
I, for one, am really digging this Sisley Phyto Eye Twist. I just love it, when someone goes ahead and does some makeup formula right. I wish it happened more often 🙂 This time around and in this particular product Sisley by all means nailed it.
