ANNY celebrates their fifth birthday with this festive collection. There are six cute shades here – four nail colours proper and two glitter top coats. I have to tell you up front, I love this collection, because I found a new manicure combination here that I admire. To me, it’s the best thing that can ever happen in all my makeup adventures. Not just a new and exciting product I get, but a combo that makes me happy and that I can add to my world and enjoy more than once in life and not only by this brand. It’s the bigger picture thing that is one of the ways makeup is so special and so appealing to me. It’s like getting more than you expected. More than you ever thought you could get. Or just a very pleasant bonus. Depending on how you look at it, I guess 🙂 So, let’s get this party started here, shall we?
365 let me entertain you
Before we even get to the shade, look at this cute bottle with ‘happy birthday’ written on it and a small little heart and a pretty bow. All very party like. Ok, now that I’ve praised the design some – and you know how I am about the design – let’s talk about the colour. This was the first one I went for in this collection. And there’s a reason for it. Yes, it’s simple, really. It’s green. I love green. I love green nail polish.
Anyway, this collection that proved to be so great, ultimately, started with a big time disappointment for me. I was hoping for a green green khaki here, not too bright, but nice and intense and full of colour…
Instead it’s a deep and dark khaki. Makes it more wearable for most people out wear and less enjoyable for me, unfortunately.
But here, let me entertain you by describing the shade in more details 🙂 It’s dark, still it’s green.
It’s not an off black shade. It definitely falls into the category of dark nail colours.
If you’ve never tried green and wouldn’t ever think it possible to try it, but you prefer dark manicure, this might be a good chance for you to go for green and actually like it.
085.20 happy birthday
There had to be a shade called ‘happy birthday’ in this collection and it just had to be this vibrant red 🙂
I mean, it’s perfect, right? What can be more like this celebration than red colour?
When I think about it, I imagine this birthday red the way I like my red, bright, fiery, festive, vibrant, full of colour and life. Happy.
This red by ANNY is pretty close to all the above. I might want it even brighter, even more vibrant, but it’s a matter of taste. As it is, it’s the kind of colour that had to show up in this collection, and it did.
If you like red, the chances are you have something of the kind, but it’s a good one. If you usually wear deeper and darker reds, cherry red and black cherry red, then this can be a new venue for you.
Red nail colour is a timeless classic. Womanly and beautiful. And it’s always nice, when red is done right, which it definitely is in this case.
074.60 party is started
Speaking about cherry red and black cherry red… Here’s one for you. You could call it any of the two. It depends on how you see and feel colours.
I’d call it cherry red. For me to go – black cherry – it has to be darker than what it is.
Another red classic. Only more vampy. Another red. Another womanly thing here.
When I come to think of it, I guess, this shade was bound to be part of this collection too. Remember, we have two glitters coming up here. And what can be a better and more striking background for glitters than deep colours such as cherry red? Uh-huh. Makes total sense.
On its own this shade is an elegant manicure shade that can work with almost any looks and any outfits and in any situations.
Always a good option, if you can’t change your nail colour for several days in a row and need something pretty much universal in manicure department.
178.20 all the best
Now, this here was a big surprise for me. In terms of glittery top coats, this shade didn’t make any sense whatsoever in my world.
I mean, in terms of birthday theme it doesn’t make much sense either to me, personally. To me it’s more romantic or modern neon kind of thing, maybe. But I guess it could make sense for some people as a birthday collection shade, because it’s bright and joyous, so Ok, it works.
But how does it correspond with glitter top coats? It just doesn’t seem too.
If you like and wear gitter top coats, you know that they work best with darker nail shades, reds, sometimes pastels, but bright pink? Hm. It seems to be bright and colourful to the point where it’s independent enough not to go well with glitter top coats.
Let’s wait and see though, where I came out with the whole bright pink and glitter combination. I mean, you have to see something before you rule on whether it works or not.
On its own this shade is a bright cool pink. Not fuchsia though. There’s no purple in it. Or very little, if any.
Ready for glitters? Here they come 🙂
198.90 happy peppy balloon
Wow. Talk about happy birthday and balloons. This glitter is big. Really big. Bigger than what we usually think when we think glitter. Very party like. Club like. Going out like. Colourful too. A bunch of colours. Shiny. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a top coat quite like this. And it’s a very good thing to me. I love finding new things. And the name of this shade is just so cute.
Now let’s see what this top coat will look like on the four shades in the collection.
Green first. 365 let me entertain you
The fact that this shade is so dark makes it a great match for any glitter, this one included.
Still, you can see that it’s green, it doesn’t slide all the way into black.
Wow, this glitter is just so cool.
So artsy.
So special occasion like.
I absolutely love it.
Now red. 085.20 happy birthday
This is party personified.
Glowing red and all the colourful circly glitter beauty.
How very pretty.
And modern.
I can’t wait to get out in all the disco lights to see how this top coat will look.
Once you wear these two shades, you’ll have to go out, mark my word.
Cherry red. 074.60 party is started
It’s official. Dark shades really really work with glitters.
And the more striking the glitter top coat is, the better the effect will be, when it’s paired up with this dark cherry red.
Or any dark shade, for that matter.
This shade is the darkest one in the batch.
So, it brings out all the glory there is in this glitter.
Turns out, there is a lot of glory there.
Here we go. I’m scared. Bright pink. 178.20 all the best
Ok, so here we go and… OH MY GOD.
This is beautiful.
It’s not supposed to work, but it does work, to say the least.
It’s modern. It’s edgy. It’s fresh. It’s bold. It’s gorgeous.
This opens a whole new world to me in nail colour and manicure.
I’m ecstatic.
I’m still dazed after the bright pink + glitter experience, but I’m going to be strong and look at the small glitter top coat here.
272.80 confetti glam
Hm, seems to me, confetti glam name would be more appropriate for bigger glitter. Anyway, this one here is a bunch of smaller glitter of all kind of colours. There’s more gold here than in happy peppy balloon. This gold is clever though, it’s not just shiny, it’s exquisite. Can’t wait to see this one on all the shades we’ve got.
Green. 365 let me entertain you
Oh, beautiful things. Great.
Because of all the gold, which is yellow in essence, it’s a great match for this deep green shade.
It’s like fireworks.
So nice.
And so festive.
At the same time, it’s not as artsy as the bigger glitter, so more universal and more wearable.
Red. 085.20 happy birthday
Very cute.
Somehow, this small glitter makes this red a lot of fun.
If without glitter it’s hot…
with this glitter it’s party like. Merry.
Who would have thought that this glitter top coat could produce this effect on this red shade here.
I’m impressed.
Cherry red. 074.60 party is started
Yep. Glitters do look awesome on darker nail colours.
This is not just fun. This is sexy.
With a twist.
Stunning.
This looks so good and exquisite, it will not only work for parties and clubbing, but for higher end occasions too.
Not red carpet, but something in between for sure.
If this is going to work just as well as with the big glitter top coat, this will be just so cool 🙂 Bright pink. 178.20 all the best
O-oh. I’m in awe. I mean, who would have thought.
I wouldn’t have. But here it is.
Bright pink working so perfectly with glitter.
Modern chic is the key word here.
This is something special for sure.
It’s the kind of thing that can make your whole look shine a whole new way.
These are the four shades with the two glitters. Now let’s take another look at all the four shades in the collection.
And at each shade with two glitter top coats side by side, so you could make up your mind, which you like best 🙂
Green.
Red.
Cherry red.
Pink.
I’m so grateful to ANNY for coming up with this collection. It’s great to begin with. The birthday theme is well realized here. And the shades are all good choices. The glitters are spectacular, and they look ever so good on all the shades. So, this collection is wonderful. But other than that ANNY gave me a present for their birthday here 🙂 Thanks to them I discovered this bright pink and glitter thing that I could never even picture before. It just didn’t come together in my mind. This combination was so outside my plane, my thinking, my colour concept. But now I know it’s there, and I already see all the looks, all the manicures, all the things I can do with it. It will be part of my rotation. And it’s the best thing I could get from a collection. My world has just gotten a little bigger, a little brighter, a little happier. Isn’t that great? 🙂
